Privacy Policy

Quick Summary

• No cloud transcription. Audio and transcripts stay local.
• No usage analytics or tracking.
• Models download from our Cloudflare R2 storage with checksum verification.
• Clipboard updates happen locally; we never read your existing clipboard.
• Payments run through Polar/Stripe; we never see full card details.

Data We Handle

Audio:captured only while recording, stored temporarily as a WAV file in your temp directory, then deleted after transcription.

Transcripts:placed on your clipboard locally. We do not store or transmit them.

Device information:limited to what Windows and Tauri need to register hotkeys and access the microphone. No identifiers or telemetry are collected.

Model downloads:fetched from Cloudflare R2 on first run or update, verified with checksums, and stored under your user profile (`~/.parakeet-flow/models`).

Payments & Licensing

Purchases are processed by Polar using Stripe. Payment details are entered on their hosted pages, not in the app or on our servers. We receive basic transaction metadata (like email for receipts/support) to deliver licenses; we do not receive full card numbers.

Crash Reporting & Analytics

None by default. If optional error reporting is introduced later, it will be opt-in and documented here before being enabled.

Your Controls

• Delete cached models anytime from `~/.parakeet-flow/models`.
• Uninstall the app to remove binaries; user data (like models) remains under your profile for reuse.
• Disable microphone access in Windows privacy settings if you want to stop audio capture.
